THE BARTOLUCCI STORY SO FAR!!!!
Tradition
Woodworking has been part of the family history since the fourties of the last century,
when the Bartolucci Brothers manufacture accordions in Belvedere Fogliensewith the help of many inhabitants
of the village.
During World War II, with the passage of the war front, the manufacturing pauses for a few years. The activity takes
on again but ceases eventually in the second half of the fifties, as - due to the arrival of electronics
- the factory is not able to adapt to the market.
Origins
The present company is established in 1981 based on an idea of Francesco Bartolucci, son of Matteo.
The first creations are crafted in the small workshop in the basement of his home. They
are sold at local fairs and markets in the Marches and the Romagna regions. The positive results and the
fact that the customers appreciate the products have a motivating effect. In the following years the activity expands to important
markets in Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, Umbria and Tuscany, up to the first exports abroad. In this period
the company is awarded the qualification of artistic craftsmanship.
Turning point
A significant change in the company’s sales strategy happens in 1990 with the opening
of the first shop in Urbino. This fact represents the passage from travelling sales to retail at a fixed address.
From this moment on, business and craftsmanship are combined in a concept that soon reveals
itself as the winning choice. Today, this strategy still characterizes the Bartolucci brand, allowing the
company to maintain competitive prices and obtain higher profit margins in retail prices.
Expansion
In the following years the retail network expands with the opening of new shops.
Riccione in 1995, Rimini in 1996, Cattolica and Florence in1997,
Venice in 1998, in 1999 it’s Florence again, up to the shops in Loreto
in 2001 and Rome in 2002.
The choice of the retail locations is extremely accurate, based on areas that are intensely visited by tourists.
The crafts are manufactured as pieces of furniture, but they are also highly successful as souvenirs.
This phenomenon is determined by the original shop design and the detailed visual merchandising
concept, which are able to involve customers emotionally showcasing the beauty of the products at maximum.
The company today
Today, the company owns 10 shops in Italy. The Bartolucci products can also be bought
abroad, in monobrand shops in Vienna, Prague, Madrid,
S.Marino and Istanbul.(Photo of the Bartolucci family)
The company in 1996
In 1996 the company’s staff includes Matteo, Francesco, Anna Maria, Chiara Bartolucci
and nine employees.
The staff today
The company has forty one employees, including four accountants and twelve sales accounts. The photo
shows the manufacturing staff in October 2006 in occasion of the 25th anniversary.
Our solidarity projects
We like to believe that our creations can make people smile … this is why we participate in solidarity projects.
We carefully choose these projects among a large number of programmes, as they have a special meaning for us: they are for
children. Here they are…
Scintille
Scintille [sparks] is a social solidarity Association based in the Southern part of the African continent,
in particular in Namibia. With the help of our friend Luca, the Association’s president, we wanted to tell the tale
of Pinocchio to the children of the orphanage of Mangetti Dune, in the Bushmenland in the North Eastern part of Namibia. And
so we did, leaving the wooden Pinocchio puppet as a gift. From that moment on, the children of Mangetti had a new inseparable
playmate. In our shop in the Via Condotta in FLORENCE you can buy Namibian crafts. In this way it is possible to support the
orphanage of CASA ANGELO in Mangetti Dune in Namibia.

Rishilpi Development Project: Distance adoption
"The Distance Adoption Project is a form of solidarity that involves both the family of the adopted child and
the family that adopts the child at distance. With a small annual contribution in money it is possible to sponsor education,
healthcare and clothing for a child”. Our company is sponsor of this project with distance adoptions in Bangladesh and
Brazil since many years.
